Title: Director of Communications
Status: Permanent, Full- Time, Salaried position
Reports to: Executive Director
Supervises: Part time Communications Associate, Interns, Consultants and Vendors
Start Date: Immediately
Hours: Weekdays 9:30am – 5:30pm with occasional weekend and evening work required
Salary: $65,000+

Qualifications: 

The ideal candidate will hold a Bachelor's Degree in communications, public/media relations or related field with a minimum of 7 – 9 years of relevant work experience. Experience working in policy/government, arts and arts education, public and higher education, and other non-profits will be a great asset.

Skills:
•    Highly proficient with PC/MAC, HTML, CSS, CMS, CRM, MS Office, Creative Suite, video production and social media, SEO, Google Analytics and Ad Words
•    Excellent writing, visual and verbal communications ability
•    Strong leader and project manager
•    Project management experience with multiple, simultaneous projects across departments
•    Building working and trusting teams
•    Anticipate communications needs across the organization
•    Experience managing digital tools and media for short and long term campaigns and initiatives – including website content, social media, organizational reports,       email management, and online advocacy and organizing tools
•    Experience working with press, press releases and media advisories
•    Experience with planning, development and launch of a new website
•    Ability to work cheerfully and effectively under tight and multiple deadlines
•    Proficiency in moderate graphic design and videography skills
•    Multi-lingual is a plus

Duties: 

•    Development of overall media and brand awareness strategies and maintain best practices
•    Coordinate staff to create communications content and calendar for fundraising and advocacy campaigns, program initiatives, newsletters/reports, special events, and general organizational information
•    Create and update content for all digital and print communications channels
•    Maintain web site and social media channels
•    Draft visual and written templates for staff review and discussion
•    Manage outside communications and media consultants
•    Analyze and report on media traffic and other analytic data tools
•    Troubleshoot audio visual and software/hardware technology problems
•    Special projects and initiatives as needed
